I met the Z family when our daughters were in hip hop dance class together earlier this year. Watching toddlers trying to learn hip hop moves is probably the most hilarious thing I’ve ever seen, but I digress. The family was moving to Thailand over the summer and wanted to have a session that captured their family and a few specifically with grandma before they left, and I was happy to oblige!

We met at Elizabeth Gamble Gardens in Palo Alto which is one of my favorite spots, not only to shoot, but also to just enjoy being outside. The gardens are relatively small but well maintained and remind me a bit of the way English gardens are set up. There are lots of little shaded spots to sit and reflect, as well as walking paths. They also have a story time coming up this Wednesday if you have little ones and need something to do on Wednesday afternoon!

It was so nice spending time with the Z family before they left the country and it was wonderful being able to capture them in a way I know they’ll treasure when they’re so far away from family. I’m so happy they’ll be able to look at these photos and remember their time here!
