I met the E family through a friend, and my daughter and their daughter became fast friends. We see each other on a regular basis and I was thrilled when they asked if I would photograph their family, 1. because I love photographing friends in their homes, and 2. because they are seriously fun, laid-back, and also maybe because they have a trampoline. Who’s to say?
So on a Sunday morning a few weeks ago I headed over the bridge to Palo Alto and we hung out for an hour or so, playing on the indoor monkey bars (uh, yeah. SO awesome), reading books together, and jumping on the trampoline outside. When I asked if I could share photos from their session they requested that the kids’ faces stay out which I was totally cool with. Most of the pictures I took that didn’t have the kids’ faces in them were from the trampoline and honestly, I love them so much. I feel like they convey so much movement, emotion, and joy as is. I think it’s easy to get caught up in getting eye contact and full-on faces in photos that we forget that life is full of bits and pieces and slivers of movement.
Deep thoughts for a Monday. 😉
