We are five weeks into our first year of homeschooling. I’d be lying if I said it’s been easy. I’m an introvert. My daughter is an extrovert. Who almost never stops talking. I’m exaggerating a tiny bit but really, the hardest part of this whole journey has been all me. I need alone time to recharge my batteries. And having my kiddo at home all day every day has been draining. I’m still trying to figure out the best way to deal with it and create a schedule that includes solo projects and scheduling playdates and things like that to find pockets of time for myself.

While I’ve been trying to figure all that out we’ve been trying to go on field trips. One of our favorite local spots to visit is Ardenwood Farm. Its a beautiful place to visit anyway, but they do programs from time to time that show how life was back when the farm was running. It’s always really interesting and we always enjoy learning something new. Also, the goats are always a hit!

If you live in the Fremont or East Bay, I definitely recommend checking out Ardenwood Farm. You can see their activity calendar here.
