So I have some fun news: I’m renting a studio near downtown San Jose with my good friend Tenley Clark. It all happened in a whirlwind and honestly, it just felt right. We pick up the keys last Wednesday and I took some quick shots of her and her daughter Lila so we could test out the light in the studio. The floors are dirty and the walls could use a fresh coat of paint but overall, I’m SO EXCITED about this space!

I especially love how the simple backdrop of the studio really lets their personality shine. I’m really feeling more minimal portraits lately and this setting is going to be perfect for that. I’m also looking forward to getting more creative in my own space again, and hopefully getting back to my art school roots. Hello weird photography ideas! Nice to see you again!
