A few weeks ago my daughter’s girl scout troop had their bridging ceremony and she made her way from a Daisy Scout to a Brownie. She was so excited to join the big girls in her troop who made it to Brownies last year and to start her journey with them (their troop is split 1st/2nd grade). I wasn’t a Girl Scout as a kid but I always wanted to be, and I love that her troop is focused on helping others in need. Each year they use a portion of profit from their cookie sales to take on a service project.

This year the girls used part of their cookie money to purchase supplies for kids in need and donated them to One Child. This is such a great organization and one that is definitely worthy of those hard-earned dollars. For the bridging ceremony they used another portion of their profits to rent a bounce house to celebrate, and it was definitely a hit!

I’m so proud of this kid and I can’t wait to see what the girls decide on for their next service project!
