A few weeks ago I photographed one of the coolest first birthdays I’ve ever had the pleasure of photographing! The venue was Peekadoodle Kids Club in Ghirardelli Square in San Francisco. Since my daughter is a bit older, I feel like I’m not as hip to all the fun places to bring kids but this would definitely have been on my list a few years ago! There was a ton of things for the kids to do indoors, along with a small bounce house, balloon animals, and even appearances from Elmo and Abby.

After some play time and snacks, everyone headed outside for a musical performance (a big hit with the kids and enjoyable for adults as well, bonus!). The bubble machine was on full blast, and the kids had a grand ol’ time listening to the live music, dancing, playing with bubbles, and playing ball.

After the performance, we headed back inside for the big finale: the cake! Can we just talk about that incredible cake for a minute? How gorgeous! Mila was such a trooper and was just a gem the whole afternoon, and girl got down on that cake so I know she’s going to grow up to be fabulous! I mean, just look at her style and grace already!

It was a true pleasure photographing her birthday and I hope she has many more fantastic birthdays!
