So, I’m in this awesome local photographers’ Facebook group. I’m actually in several photographer Facebook groups but this particular group is super awesome in that EVERYONE is very helpful and ready to share advice and knowledge, and completely willing to work together. Since I’m usually the person taking the pictures I’m rarely in family pictures which is a dadgum shame, so when Jenna of Jenna Christina Photography asked if I’d be interested in collaborating for a session I didn’t even pause to think about it.
I hadn’t met her before the session but she’s such a warm and friendly person it was like we already knew each other! I will say, it was a bit of a strange experience to be on the other side of the camera but it gave me great insight into what it’s like being photographed and really helped me empathize with my clients 😉
I love how these turned out and I can’t wait to print a few out to put on our wall. I especially love that last image of Margaux, so good! Being a lifestyle photographer, or really a creator of any kind, it’s easy to put having your picture taken off, but I’ve realized over the years that if I keep talking about doing it myself it’s never going to happen. And also, I should practice what I preach. How can I tell my client’s the importance of having their picture taken if I don’t do it myself? So here you go. Our little family, in our little apartment, in this moment in time. Thanks so much Jenna for doing this for us! <3
