Guys, I can’t believe it’s taken me this long to blog this maternity session! This session actually happened last summer but life got in the way, and then we started homeschooling, and then I hired a designer to create this gorgeous new website so I thought I’d wait until that went live and here we are. 2019. Better late than never, right?
When I first started chatting with this mama about doing a newborn session, she mentioned wanting maternity photos to commemorate her first pregnancy. After talking over some options, she decided to go with the add-on mini maternity session instead of a full session. The mini add-on is a great way to document that bump without committing to a full hour session, especially for new parents without other kiddos.
While this mama wanted to remember this time in her life, she also wanted to keep things fairly low key. Finding an outdoor location that was pretty but offered some variety was also on her list, especially with the shorter session time. As we were talking my mind immediately went to Coyote Hills in Fremont. I absolutely love this park not only for hiking with my kiddo and birdwatching, but for sessions as well. There is quite a bit of variety, not to mention it’s absolutely beautiful at Golden Hour (the hour before sunset).
When you’re trying to decide whether or not you want to book a maternity session, keep in mind that no matter how you feel it’s a special time. Personally I did not love being pregnant and decided to skip maternity photos. Now I wish I had more photos to document my pregnancy because turns out it was my only one. Your maternity session doesn’t have to be fussy or goddess-like. It can just be some sweet photos of you and your partner, or you and your family, or heck, even you and your dog! My goal is to give you photos that take you back to this time in the best way possible.
