Last week I blogged a maternity session with this sweet family that was waiting for their newest addition. They wanted to document their life before and after the baby arrived, as a family of five and a family of six. I was curious what it would be like juggling three older girls, a new puppy and a newborn. What I learned was the three older girls were excellent helpers and old enough to take care of themselves as well which made things so much easier on mom and dad.

Mom and dad were also doing great, although adjusting to the whole waking at night situation was something they were working on. They definitely were in high spirits and doting on the newest baby girl. Speaking of, that little nugget was so sweet and happy! She responded to her sisters’ coos and was in a great mood for just about our whole session.

It’s so interesting to me to see what a large family dynamic looks like because our family is pretty small. Before we had a kid we thought we wanted to have two or three, but after having one we decided our family was complete. I think no matter how many kids you have you’ll always wonder what it would be like to have more or less than you have.

For this family, four girls is the perfect number.
